We can take care of the basics, or get all up in big search's business! It really just depends on how aggressive you'd like to go.
Ranking on Google is both art and science, coupled with math and attentive processing. There are many layers to the successes of Search Engine Optimization, but as a business owner you are probably left wondering whether you actually need to optimize for Google. Here's some questions to ask yourself:
What is the global and local traffic for your industry?
How much of that traffic are you getting?
What search terms are people using to find you and your competitors?
How much credibility do you have with big search?
Are there any penalties against your site?
These are important questions that can only be answered through sound strategy. We start with your on-site performance, and optimize your entire website for big search to crawl the content. Then, we make sure your business is listed on the directories that are important to your industry and area. How much does SEO cost?
SEO costs are based on how much you do yourself vs. outsource.
SDS charges for results, rather than for tasks. This is how SEO should be viewed. If you’re given an hourly rate or a tasked based rate by another agency you should ask for established goals. The price for SEO services ranges from $500 to $100K. The reasonable approach for most is to get some help knowing what to do in the form of a custom report and plan. Those can be closer to the $500 mark. When you start getting done-for-you SEO work, the price increases drastically. Generally, we work with SEO clients that can facilitate a minimum $5000/year budget.
Will SEO work for my site?
If done properly, SEO works. If you’re in a competitive industry SEO is very difficult. For popular verticals it is a better idea to focus on other forms of marketing and focus on SEO after a few years.
In the meantime, specific SEO tactics will always work. For example:
optimizing pages that are already popular
watching your 404 errors and correcting them
using SEO-friendly permalinks
using Alt tags in all images
creating cornerstone content
Are keywords the same as my categories?
Keywords and categories can be the same but don’t have to be. When we’re speaking about “keywords” in SEO, we mean the topics that attract the biggest audience from Google. Keywords are carefully chosen because they have a strong following but easy competition.
How long does SEO take?
The time it takes to get your site to the top of Google depends on:
the strength of your competition
the effectiveness of your keywords
the competitiveness of your keywords
the SEO position of your site at the outset
the effectiveness of your strategy
the amount of effort you put in
It is important to note that algorithms change regularly at Google and other search engines. SEO is never done, however once you’ve gotten results for certain keywords you can move on, but monitoring is necessary.
